Filling Other’s Life With Laughter And Filling His Own With Love – Kapil Sharma

A boy who was born in Amritsar, Punjab might have never dreamt that he would go onto so much success that the whole world would know him. His family too could never have imagined the kind of fame and attention this boy would attain in his life. However, Kapil Sharma was meant for all this and more, and it was nothing more than his comic talent and his dedication to work hard in life that allowed him to rise to such great heights.

When Kapil started doing comedy in the early 2000s, little did he know that it was this very talent that would take him to true stardom. After winning The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2007, Kapil went on from strength to strength. He won six seasons of the show, Comedy Circus and eventually landed his own show, named Comedy Nights with Kapil, which went to be renamed the Kapil Sharma Show.

However, it was only when he found true love in the form of Ginni Chatrath that Kapil’s life was finally complete. Although he had been in a relationship with Ginni since a few years, he was tight-lipped about the same and introduced her to the world only in 2017. Ginni and Kapil have now started their life together as husband and wife, as they tied the knot on December 12th, 2018.

The big fat Punjabi wedding kicked off with a mehendi ceremony, for which Ginni was dressed in a deep purple lehenga kurti. Given that the wedding is happening in Jalandhar in the winters, Ginni chose to be practical and stylish, but opting for slightly longer sleeves. The entire outfit had thread work and the tassels on the lehenga added to the charm.

Being deeply spiritual people, Kapil and Ginni chose to have a mata ki chowki, instead of a traditional sangeet. For the event, while Kapil chose a dark olive green kurta pajama, Ginni chose to go bright with an orange sharara. Kapil teamed his kurta pajama with printed stole, which would have also kept him warm on the cold December night. Ginni’s orange sharara had vertical silver stripes, while the long kurti had an elaborate border. The matching dupatta too had intricate work all along the borders.

Kapil and Ginni had two weddings, the first one being a traditional Hindu one – for this Ginni chose the traditional Hindu wedding colour red for her stunning lehenga choli. The intricately embroidered choli had net sleeves, which also had work done on them and the red net dupatta completed the look. Ginni chose green stone jewellery to have a twining moment with Kapil, as he was dressed in a green and gold sherwani. He too wore stone jewelry in shades of green and his triple kalgi also had green stones. The cream coloured turban was the perfect offset to the entire outfit.

The second wedding ceremony was the Punjabi Anand Karaj, which took place in a gurudwara. For this occasion, yet again, you could see that the bride and groom were colour coordinated. Kapil wore an off white sherwani with gold embroidery and the dupatta he wore along with it had silver embroidery on the borders along with pink piping. He also wore a pink turban to complete the full Punjabi look. Ginni too was seen in a stunning pink lehenga choli, which had gold thread work all over, along with a few splashes of red. She complimented that red with a red net dupatta, which she kept pretty simple, with only a gold lining on the borders.

Isha Ambani’s Wedding Trousseau - Simplicity Meets Elegant Luxury

There are perks to being rich and there are perks to being the daughter of one of the richest men in the world! Welcome to the wedding trousseau of Isha Ambani – the loved daughter of Mukesh Ambani, which like Isha was simple and understated, yet extremely exquisite and regal. Isha is not someone who has ever been sporting loud colours and garish designs. This was something that visible throughout her trousseau – not only did she choose a lighter colour palette for all her outfits, she chose to keep her makeup and accessories on the lighter side too.

While the background of Lake Como, Italy was stunning, it was Isha Ambani who looked even better – dressed in a nude-beige Dolce and Gabbana lace gown, Isha looked spectacular! The customised gown had intricate floral patterns embroidered on and the sleeves also had fine lace details. The embroidery was done using dull green, sky blue and nude.

For the Grihashanti pooja, Isha decided to go with a stunning Sabyasachi lehenga, which was not just hand painted, but also hand embroidered with tilla work. She chose to team it with an antique bandhej dupatta, which was an interesting choice given that, all her pre-wedding ceremonies were to be held in Rajasthan.

Being true blue Gujaratis, the Ambanis hosted a lavish dandiya night and for that, Isha chose a colourful, princess inspired lehenga choli, designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. The intricate thread work and embroidery ensured that the outfit had a rich look, which is perhaps why Isha chose to keep her accessories and makeup quite simple.

The pre-wedding ceremonies also included a maha aarti and a sangeet, and for this Isha went with her family favourite designer, Manish Malhotra, who gave her a gorgeous bright pink lehenga choli in an A-line silhouette. The lehenga as well as the choli were embellished with Swaroski crystals as was the matching pink dupatta.

The fact that Isha is someone who is extremely close to her family and completely rooted in traditions was proven by the fact that she chose an ivory lehenga choli for the wedding ceremony. For Gujaratis, wearing a shade of white for the wedding is customary and Isha was not one to stray from the customs. What was truly heartening to see was that she used her mother’s red wedding saree as the dupatta! The exquisite diamond studded wedding outfit was created by legendary Indian designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.

From the girl next door to the biggest star in the celebrity sky - Priyanka Chopra

In the year 2000, when an 18 year old Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World title, little did people know what she was going to achieve in the years to come. Stepping into Bollywood seemed like the obvious choice and that is what she did, but with her talent, good looks and an incredible amount of hard work, Priyanka soon emerged as a force to reckon with, in the Indian movie industry. She was not scared to take on any types of roles and was willing to go the extra distance to bring a sense of realism to every character she portrayed.

However, her talent was not one that would be limited to the borders of India and very soon, she become a household name in the international entertainment world too. By landing the lead role of Alex Parrish in the American television show, Quantico, Priyanka made her first foray into the global entertainment industry and soon she was to share screen space with the likes of Dwyane Johnson and Zac Efron in the movie Baywatch.

But little did Priyanka herself know that with all this fame would come the much elusive love into her life. Little did she know that a whirlwind romance awaited her in the form of Disney star and musical prodigy Nick Jonas. Although Nick knew from the very minute he met her in person that this was the woman for him, Priyanka took a little more time, but she was soon to be swept off her feet by the charming Nick and within a few months of courtship, they were both ready to say I do to each other.

The big fat Indian style wedding was held in Udaipur, and the three ceremonies had Priyanka looking like the true blushing bride. Her wedding was the talk of the town and people were a lot more interested in how she looked and what she wore.

For her mehendi, she chose to wear a vibrant outfit, created especially for her by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. The flared outfit had shades of yellow, pink and green and was the perfect choice for a simple, yet stunning look for the mehendi ceremony.

Next to follow was the Christian ceremony, for which Priyanka chose to look every bit the Christian bride. Dressed in a stunning white gown, it was her veil that stole the spotlight – the 75 foot long train looking incredible. The wedding gown was created in about 1900 hours by the designers at Ralph Lauren. The sheer gown had long sleeves and had floral and scroll motifs all over them, along with about 24,00,000 mother of pearl sequins.

The next ceremony to follow was a traditional Indian wedding, for which, yet again Priyanka chose to go traditional. This intricately designed crimson red outfit was created by renowned Indian designer Sabyasachi. The lehenga had hand cut organza flowers and Siam red crystals and took the efforts of 110 embroiders, who spent close to 3700 hours to complete this creation.

Next on the itinerary was the Delhi reception, where Priyanka chose to wear a champagne coloured lehenga choli with an intricate net dupatta. This outfit was created by Falguni Shane Peacock, and had intricate embroidery and beading work. The short choli was covered with elaborate embroidery, which is perhaps why the dupatta was kept on the lighter side.

The Style And Glamour Of Celebrity Weddings – The Ladies – Anushka Sharma

There are actresses and there are ladies who rule the roost when it comes to the Bollywood movie industry. In the recent few months, the world saw two of them getting married and one getting engaged, all set to tie the knot. While Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone have already become ‘missus’, Priyanka Chopra is on her way there. Each of these ladies is known to be powerhouse performers and they have carved a niche for themselves in the industry. It has been no surprise that these three ladies chose men who are just are reputed and forces to reckon with in their own domains. So, it was only natural that their weddings were much talked about, as were the looks they chose to sport.

In a series of write-ups, we are going to take a closer look at the ‘looks’ that these divas sported for their life changing moments, starting with the lovely Anushka Sharma:

Anushka Sharma got married to cricketer and current captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli in a fairy tale like wedding ceremony, held in Italy. All the festivities happened there only, starting with a mehendi ceremony

For her mehendi, Anushka wanted something that was bright and fun, so renowned designer Sabyasachi designed this yellow, blue and pink outfit for the bride to be. The full length, A line skirt allowed Anushka to dance and twirl, while the short sleeves of the top, allowed for her arms to be covered in mehendi.

Keeping in mind the fairy tale like theme of the wedding, Sabyasachi chose a baby pink for her lehenga, and draped in the lehenga, Anushka looked like a fairy tale princess! The entire lehenga choli was covered with delicate embroidery in shades of pink, green and gold. The delicate net dupatta had similar embroidery, but managed to maintain that ethereal look.

Anushka had two receptions – one in Delhi and one in Mumbai and for both, she sported extremely different looks.

For the Delhi reception, she was every bit the traditional Indian bride, decked up in a red and gold Banarasi saree, created by designer Sabyasachi. The saree had traditional motifs and a heavy gold pallu. The red blouse which had a conservative sleeve, was glamourized by embroidery work and embellishment on the edges.

However, her avatar for the Mumbai reception, she was every bit the Bollywood diva that she truly is! In a pale gold full length skirt, which had work all over, she looked stunning – the sleeveless top was covered on one side with a dupatta, which was tucked into a belt.
