Filling Other’s Life With Laughter And Filling His Own With Love – Kapil Sharma

A boy who was born in Amritsar, Punjab might have never dreamt that he would go onto so much success that the whole world would know him. His family too could never have imagined the kind of fame and attention this boy would attain in his life. However, Kapil Sharma was meant for all this and more, and it was nothing more than his comic talent and his dedication to work hard in life that allowed him to rise to such great heights.

When Kapil started doing comedy in the early 2000s, little did he know that it was this very talent that would take him to true stardom. After winning The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2007, Kapil went on from strength to strength. He won six seasons of the show, Comedy Circus and eventually landed his own show, named Comedy Nights with Kapil, which went to be renamed the Kapil Sharma Show.

However, it was only when he found true love in the form of Ginni Chatrath that Kapil’s life was finally complete. Although he had been in a relationship with Ginni since a few years, he was tight-lipped about the same and introduced her to the world only in 2017. Ginni and Kapil have now started their life together as husband and wife, as they tied the knot on December 12th, 2018.

The big fat Punjabi wedding kicked off with a mehendi ceremony, for which Ginni was dressed in a deep purple lehenga kurti. Given that the wedding is happening in Jalandhar in the winters, Ginni chose to be practical and stylish, but opting for slightly longer sleeves. The entire outfit had thread work and the tassels on the lehenga added to the charm.

Being deeply spiritual people, Kapil and Ginni chose to have a mata ki chowki, instead of a traditional sangeet. For the event, while Kapil chose a dark olive green kurta pajama, Ginni chose to go bright with an orange sharara. Kapil teamed his kurta pajama with printed stole, which would have also kept him warm on the cold December night. Ginni’s orange sharara had vertical silver stripes, while the long kurti had an elaborate border. The matching dupatta too had intricate work all along the borders.

Kapil and Ginni had two weddings, the first one being a traditional Hindu one – for this Ginni chose the traditional Hindu wedding colour red for her stunning lehenga choli. The intricately embroidered choli had net sleeves, which also had work done on them and the red net dupatta completed the look. Ginni chose green stone jewellery to have a twining moment with Kapil, as he was dressed in a green and gold sherwani. He too wore stone jewelry in shades of green and his triple kalgi also had green stones. The cream coloured turban was the perfect offset to the entire outfit.

The second wedding ceremony was the Punjabi Anand Karaj, which took place in a gurudwara. For this occasion, yet again, you could see that the bride and groom were colour coordinated. Kapil wore an off white sherwani with gold embroidery and the dupatta he wore along with it had silver embroidery on the borders along with pink piping. He also wore a pink turban to complete the full Punjabi look. Ginni too was seen in a stunning pink lehenga choli, which had gold thread work all over, along with a few splashes of red. She complimented that red with a red net dupatta, which she kept pretty simple, with only a gold lining on the borders.
