Isha Ambani’s Wedding Trousseau - Simplicity Meets Elegant Luxury

There are perks to being rich and there are perks to being the daughter of one of the richest men in the world! Welcome to the wedding trousseau of Isha Ambani – the loved daughter of Mukesh Ambani, which like Isha was simple and understated, yet extremely exquisite and regal. Isha is not someone who has ever been sporting loud colours and garish designs. This was something that visible throughout her trousseau – not only did she choose a lighter colour palette for all her outfits, she chose to keep her makeup and accessories on the lighter side too.

While the background of Lake Como, Italy was stunning, it was Isha Ambani who looked even better – dressed in a nude-beige Dolce and Gabbana lace gown, Isha looked spectacular! The customised gown had intricate floral patterns embroidered on and the sleeves also had fine lace details. The embroidery was done using dull green, sky blue and nude.

For the Grihashanti pooja, Isha decided to go with a stunning Sabyasachi lehenga, which was not just hand painted, but also hand embroidered with tilla work. She chose to team it with an antique bandhej dupatta, which was an interesting choice given that, all her pre-wedding ceremonies were to be held in Rajasthan.

Being true blue Gujaratis, the Ambanis hosted a lavish dandiya night and for that, Isha chose a colourful, princess inspired lehenga choli, designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. The intricate thread work and embroidery ensured that the outfit had a rich look, which is perhaps why Isha chose to keep her accessories and makeup quite simple.

The pre-wedding ceremonies also included a maha aarti and a sangeet, and for this Isha went with her family favourite designer, Manish Malhotra, who gave her a gorgeous bright pink lehenga choli in an A-line silhouette. The lehenga as well as the choli were embellished with Swaroski crystals as was the matching pink dupatta.

The fact that Isha is someone who is extremely close to her family and completely rooted in traditions was proven by the fact that she chose an ivory lehenga choli for the wedding ceremony. For Gujaratis, wearing a shade of white for the wedding is customary and Isha was not one to stray from the customs. What was truly heartening to see was that she used her mother’s red wedding saree as the dupatta! The exquisite diamond studded wedding outfit was created by legendary Indian designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.
